Privacy policy
Last updated 1 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information The School of Energy Alignment collects, why, how long we keep it and your rights. We keep it short and only collect what we need to run classes, training and coaching.
Who we are
The School of Energy Alignment is run by Energy Alignment Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 13304276, registered office 9 Chalkhill Barrow, Melbourn, Royston, SG8 6EQ. We are the controller of your personal information. For any privacy question or request, email jon@energyalignment.co.uk.
What we collect and why
Booking a class. Your name, email address, the class and date you choose, how you heard about us and anything you choose to tell us. We use this to confirm your place and run the class. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before a contract, and then the contract itself.
Injuries and health. If you tell us about an injury or health condition, we use it only to adapt the training and keep you safe. Health information is special category data, so we only use it with your explicit consent, which you give by telling us, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Contact form and emails. Your name, email address and message, used to reply to you. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
Mailing list. Your email address, used only to tell you about upcoming seminars. We only add you if you sign up and confirm, and every email has an unsubscribe link. Lawful basis: consent.
Membership and payments. Your name, the payments you make by bank transfer (BACS) and attendance. We never see or store your card details. Lawful basis: contract, and our legal duty to keep accounting records.
Private training and life coaching. Your contact details, session bookings and the notes we make to support your progress. Coaching conversations are confidential. Most sessions are not recorded. If a session is recorded, it is only with your agreement, and the recording is shared with you afterwards. With your permission, we may occasionally use part of a recording on our YouTube channel, and we never do this without asking you first. Lawful basis: contract, and consent for recordings and any use on YouTube.
Using the website. Basic visit statistics (see below) and security logs that help protect the site from spam and attacks. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure, useful website.
Visitor statistics
We count visits and page views using software that runs on our own website. It does not use cookies, does not identify you and the information is not shared with anyone else. We use it only to understand which pages are useful and to improve the site. If you would like to opt out, email us and we will exclude you, or use your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only share it with the services that help us run the school, who process it on our behalf and under contract:
- Our website host, which stores the website and form entries
- Our email provider, for sending and receiving email
- MailPoet, the mailing list service built into the website
- Calendly, if you book an intro or discovery call
- Zoom, for online sessions
- YouTube, only when you choose to play a video on this site
- Our accountant, for financial records
Some of these services are based outside the UK. Where information leaves the UK, it is protected by the safeguards the law requires, such as approved contract terms.
We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to training: 12 months
- Student and booking records: while you train with us, then 2 years
- Coaching and private training notes: up to 2 years after your last session
- Session recordings: stored in our Zoom account and deleted automatically, oldest first, as newer recordings replace them. Clips you have agreed to share on YouTube stay online unless you ask us to remove them
- Financial records: 6 years, as the law requires
- Mailing list: until you unsubscribe
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy to take elsewhere. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email jon@energyalignment.co.uk and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
