Meditation: concentration and consciousness training

Meditation is not an escape from the world, it is the deliberate training of consciousness in order to release attachments, aversions and delusions. I use a methodical, practical approach based on Franz Bardon’s Initiation Into Hermetics.

Practical and precise teaching

The Hermetic meditation class is based on Franz Bardon’s Initiation Into Hermetics and the clear methods taught by Mark Rasmus. You will learn exactly how to observe thought, direct intention, and access deeper layers of awareness.

Instead of simply “sitting quietly”, you learn the mechanics of awareness and how to work with them directly, training the mind to remain stable, focused and spacious.

Training the observer and the intender

A core part of Hermetic meditation involves separating the observer from the intender. As your awareness strengthens, you can direct attention intentionally rather than being swept along by habit or emotion. In class, you will learn how to:

  • Hold steady, unbroken concentration
  • Observe thoughts without attachment
  • Recognise how consciousness moves
  • Return to clarity even when the mind is active

Concentration, balance and emotional alchemy

As your concentration deepens, we explore how thoughts and emotions carry elemental qualities, how fire, water, air and earth manifest within the mind and energy system. You learn to change emotional patterns at the level of energy and information, so emotional tension releases more easily, intuition becomes clearer, and your inner world becomes more coherent.

Non dual light and Akasha

As your practice deepens, you begin to experience non-dual and absorption states. In Hermetics, this is accessed through Akasha, the stillness behind everything. It is clear, grounded and free from fantasy or delusion.
