Yang Tai Chi
Tai Chi is more than slow movement.
When taught properly, it builds strength, steadiness and internal power while calming the nervous system. In our Hastings and Seaford classes, you learn how to train the mind and body together so the practice becomes powerful, practical and transformative.

What Tai Chi classes offer
If you feel stiff, stressed, scattered or simply disconnected from your body, Tai Chi gives you a clear, structured way back to strength and clarity.
It’s not just movement, you learn how to stand correctly, move efficiently and coordinate the body with the mind. This trains the body and mind to work as one unified system, creating real balance, mobility and a strong mind rather than just following or copying shapes.
Whether your goal is physical wellbeing, stress management, confidence or deeper internal martial arts development, Tai Chi provides a steady and sustainable path forward.
And Tai Chi is not only for relaxation. It is a complete martial art. When trained properly, it develops whole body power, internal strength and the ability to move with effortless precision. The same principles that calm the mind also build force and stability.
Whatever your starting point, the training adapts to your experience and goals, helping you progress step by step.
Tai chi is Power and strength
Most exercise create muscular tension. Tai Chi trains the connective tissues that link the whole body together.
Instead of creating tension, you learn how to align correctly, organising your structure so strength travels through the body as one elastic connected system. This develops stability, an elastic body and coordinated power whilst releasing strain or tension.
Students feel more grounded, more balanced and more physically resilient within a few classes. Movements become smoother, posture improves and everyday actions feel easier and more efficient.
This connected training allows you to sense your body more clearly and move with subtle control rather than effort. Strength comes from coordination and structure rather than force.
This is why Tai Chi, when taught properly, feels light yet powerful.

Internal Power, Structure and Fa Jin (Rebounding Force)
Tai Chi is famous for its ability to generate explosive internal power known as Fa Jin. This is a short, release of force produced though specific mental and physical mechanics. It is not about tension, or magic. It’s simple when taught correctly.
Through deliberate training of the mind and body, you refine this internal engine.
This is the same internal mechanism trained in Dragon Style Kung Fu. In Tai Chi, you perfect it slowly and precisely. In Kung Fu, you express it quickly and explosively. Together they represent two expressions of the same internal power.
In Tai Chi Chuan you learn to:
- Issue power without tensing
- Root and unroot partners easily
- Develop rebounding & whole-body force
- Move energy through conscious intention
- Transform softness into crisp, explosive strength
What appears gentle on the outside contains disciplined internal force. This is why Tai Chi is not only calming and restorative, but also a complete and effective martial art.

My principles
The universal Principle of Truth stands at the heart of every class and workshop, expressed through my four key principles:

- Clarity – I focus not just on what to train, but why, ensuring you understand how physical, astral and mental energy interact.
- Community – I cultivate an open training environment where everyone is respected and encouraged to strengthen each other’s progress.
- Transformation – Whether you’re here to improve your health, unlock energy or deepen awareness, the aim is permanent change.
- Reality – The skills I teach are tried and tested in making them grounded, authentic and safe.
